About Us

Who is Medy?

Some kids dream of being astronauts. I dreamt of a career in language and communication – well, I didn’t know it back then, but you’ve got to agree with me that it makes sense things shaped up to be this way. I was five years old the first time I saw an interpreter on an Italian TV show. Fascinated, I asked my family about her. “She’s a translator,” they said. (Yep, like many of you, my mum didn’t know the difference between translators and interpreters or in this case, simultaneous/whispered interpreters.)

From that moment, I knew I wanted to be that and I also figured out that in my spare time I could have been translating the books I loved reading (and that’s also how a workaholic is made but that’s a story for another time). Born in Naples, I grew up with a teacher for a mother who made sure I spoke properly – no slang allowed in the house and a businessman for a father who turned every coffee run into a business lesson. Safe to say, those two worlds shaped me. My mum instilled clear, articulate communication, my dad taught me to spot opportunities, and English? That was my superpower from day one…literally. My mum swears I would only stay put when the TV was in English.

Fast forward to a language-focused high school, a BA in International Relations & Languages, and two Master’s degrees from the University of Surrey and I was freelancing before I even finished my studies, eager to turn my passion into a career.

But here’s the plot twist.

I set out to specialize in marketing and creative translation solutions, that was the dream. But instead, I started with interpreting. Not glamorous conference interpreting, but the real-time kind medical and legal calls, where every second mattered. And those often came with translation tasks, so before I knew it, I had accidentally specialized in legal and medical translation and interpreting.

But that wasn’t the only shift.

MD Linguistic Solutions: Where Freelance Meets Something Bigger

A few years into freelancing, I realized my portfolio was packed with shark clients -agencies taking most of the profits while I did the hard work. The agency model? Didn’t feel right. The freelancer struggles? Not for me.

I briefly opened an LTD, only to realize I didn’t want to be just another agency. So, I struck it off, leveled up my freelancing game, and started attracting better clients, bigger projects, and more creative opportunities—specializing in marketing, branding, and transcreation.

And then, something clicked.

As I researched how to build my brand, I found myself managing social media on the side—for my freelance business, my father’s company, a friend’s business, even a restaurant I worked at. I got hooked. I saw the power of content, branding, and strategy, and (surprise, surprise) I was really good at it.

So, I built a powerhouse team – one that helps me offer killer branding solutions, social media strategies, and top-tier linguistic services.

And that’s how MD Linguistic Solutions came to life.

Not an agency. Not just a freelancer. A team of experts, united under one brand, helping businesses speak the right language, connect across cultures, and grow globally.

And honestly? We’re just getting started.
